Abolition of Class 2 NICs delayed

The government is to delay introduction of the NICs Bill announced in this year’s Queen's speech until 2018, to allow more time to consult on the legislation abolishing Class 2 NICs, which will now take effect from April 2019.

The government is to delay introduction of the NICs Bill announced in this year’s Queen's speech until 2018, to allow more time to consult on the legislation abolishing Class 2 NICs, which will now take effect from April 2019. Other measures expected in the Bill include a Class 1A exemption for sporting testimonials, pensions advice exemption, and bringing NICs treatment of termination payments into line with tax.
