I see that HMRC is said to be looking at mileage capture. I have 65 employees driving an average of 3 500 miles a year. What will the consequences be to me and my employees?

Answer

I agree that if you read the fleet press you may come to the view that this is an area of significant interest to HMRC.

While it is the case that HMRC will during the course of a HMRC employer compliance review consider the mileage records provided by employees and the controls put in place by the employer there is no evidence that this is an area of special interest to them at present.
