HMRC has made available the spreadsheet template for Bermuda financial institutions reporting under the Crown dependencies and overseas territories (CDOT) alternative reporting regime (ARR). The ARR applies to non-domiciled individuals taxed in the UK on the remittance basis, where the specified elections have been made.
The CDOTs inter-governmental agreements will be replaced by the common reporting standard (CRS) from 2018 onwards, with 2017 as a transition year. The ARR is only available for reporting for the tax years ending 5 April 2015 and 5 April 2016. Reports for the tax year ending 5 April 2015 must be made by 30 September 2016 and for the tax year ending 5 April 2016 by 30 September 2017. See www.bit.ly/21jKQ6x.
