Rules of origin reference documents, which set out the rules of origin for various trade agreements between the UK and other countries, have continued to be added to HMRC’s collection. For example, origin reference documents have been added in June 2023 for Australia, New Zealand, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Singapore, Kenya and Southern African Customs Union and Mozambique.

HMRC has published tariff quotas version 4.1 (16 June 2023). This document sets out the current product-specific, tariff-rate quotas, including individual product volumes and rates.

HMRC has also created a new page which will bring together Notices made under the Customs (Origin of Chargeable Goods: Developing Countries Trading Scheme) Regulations, SI 2023/557. This will be a new collection of notices which have the force of law under the regulations. Currently only one notice has been issued.

The Free Zone (Customs Site No 2 Solent) Designation Order, SI 2023/661, designates the ‘Customs Site No 2 Solent Freeport’ as a freeport customs site, and appoints Portico Shipping Limited as the responsible authority. HMRC publishes a collection of material on freeports, including maps of the special freeport customs and tax sites.
