There has been much press speculation in the UK in recent months over whether UK-based multinationals are planning to emigrate from the UK in protest at the perceived decreasing tax competitiveness of the UK economy and in particular HMRC's anti-avoidance clampdown. The truth as is so often the case is far more complex and although many groups are looking at the issues there are probably few that are on the brink of departure.
There is however concern that the UK's tax regime is becoming less attractive...
