Britain’s budget deficit is coming down, and dropped by £7.5bn to £107.7bn in 2013/14, but it is falling at a slower rate than was hoped. One big reason for this is the weakness of corporation tax receipts, hit in particular by weak financial sector and North Sea revenues.
