On 5 and 6 December 2003 the Italian government together with the Commission hosted a European conference on company taxation entitled 'EU Corporate Tax Reform: Progress and New Challenges'. This was the second conference of its type; the first was in April 2002 examining company taxation in the EU. It was attended by a broad range of interested parties including those working in industry EU tax and legal experts and academics.
