From early March 2020, traders will need to fill out and send a ‘trader submission header’ form (NCH1) where HMRC selects import and export clearance documents for further checks.
Traders will need to complete the form onscreen and save as a PDF, giving it a filename starting with ‘NCH1’. Clearance of goods will be delayed if the form NCH1 is not submitted correctly.
Details are given in an HMRC Customs Information Paper, Minor changes for clearing import and export goods (CIP 5).
