How did you get into tax?
By accident although I’m sure I’m not alone in that. I started off working as a temporary secretary in a tax department was then taken on as a permanent staff member and became interested in the tax elements of the letters I was typing up. When I started to look for a job which had better financial progression (because my husband wasn’t working and we had two small children) the tax senior manager asked if I’d like to move into tax. I was in the right place at the right time and fortunate that the team was prepared to take a gamble on me.
