The House of Lords economic affairs committee’s Finance Bill sub-committee has invited the submission by 23 January of evidence on the taxation of partnerships.
Peers wish to consider ‘whether the approach of the [partnership tax] legislation is appropriate or whether the provisions such as those in the draft Finance Bill 2014 are a symptom of underlying problems with that approach’. The Office of Tax Simplification is shortly expected to publish its review of partnership taxation, announced in March 2013.
Evidence is also invited on the extent to which the new approach to tax policy making ‘has been implemented and is delivering the objectives set out for it’.
