The Pensions Regulator's codes of practice
One of the Pensions Regulator's key functions will be to provide codes of practice on certain areas of the administration and management of pension schemes. These codes are intended to provide practical guidance to those involved with pension schemes to ensure that trustees are complying with the provisions of the Pensions Act 2004. Although it is unlikely to be compulsory to abide by the codes of practice the codes will certainly be considered where actions are brought in connection with pension arrangements (for example complaints of maladministration to the Pensions Ombudsman).
