The property industry is celebrating the arrival of real estate investment trusts (REITs). This was the key piece of news in last week's Budget. The only other item of note was the abolition of seeding relief for unit trusts a widely trailed piece of anti-avoidance legislation. I will consider these areas in turn.

It looks as though REITs will really be with us at last from 2007. The Government announced details of the entry charge for existing companies which wish to convert as well as a raft of further changes...
