Tax and the City briefing for December 2015

 

Perhaps because of the preponderance of BEPS related changes already on the way with more to come on hybrids there were very few surprise announcements at the Autumn Statement this year on 25 November. As is ever the way some new anti-avoidance measures did however make an appearance. 

 

For the first time in quite a few years capital allowances and leasing took centre stage. New rules here will impose a tax charge where a company takes on obligations under a plant or machinery lease for which it claims a deduction but where no tax is paid on any consideration...
