As mentioned previously in this column transfer pricing and the use of tax havens is clearly high on the Inland Revenue's agenda at the moment. In a recent press interview the Chairman of the Inland Revenue Sir Nicholas Montagu said that there were a 'determined hard core of evaders' among the ranks of the UK's top corporations who would be 'pursued ruthlessly'.
Montagu singled out transfer pricing as a key area that would be investigated explaining that 'some large companies are exploring forms of avoidance that they may think legal but...
