As a precursor to a forthcoming special issue Jason Collins and Robert Hartley both of the Tax Litigation Unit at McGrigors consider taxpayers' rights and responsibilities
In the coming months a special edition of The Tax Journal will consider the topics of taxpayers' rights and responsibilities in light of recent calls for a Taxpayer's Bill of Rights (see in particular Francesca Lagerberg's article in last week's issue (The Tax Journal 19 September 2005 Issue 805). This article is an extended trailer for that special edition and like all good trailers is intended to contain all the best bits of the main feature.
It is interesting that Googling 'Your Rights as a Taxpayer' produces nothing from HMRC...
