VAT: OSS online service opens

HMRC has published new guidance Pay the VAT due on your one stop shop VAT return setting out how to pay VAT due on a one stop shop (OSS) VAT return using HMRC’s online service which opened on 1 October 2021. The VAT due can be paid as follows using the online service:

• when the return is submitted; or
• at a later date, as long as the VAT is paid in full by the last day of the month following the end of each quarter.

HMRC has also updated its import one stop shop (IOSS) guidance Tell HMRC you’re registered for the VAT import one stop shop in the EU to expand the section on intermediaries, noting that intermediaries can now enter details for multiple businesses on the same form.
