We should support the Single Compliance Process trial

Aileen BarryHMRC's ambitions in launching the new procedures for compliance review work are to be thoroughly endorsed.

Current compliance checks can be disproportionately lengthy costly and frustrating so a process that reduces time spent by focusing solely on risk assessment aspects in collaboration with business and their agents has to be good news.

However as HMRC intend to roll out the process nationwide dependent on the outcome of the trial it will be really important for practitioners and business to monitor HMRC assertions and assumptions and provide feedback on any areas of concern.
